JOB PURPOSE:

  • The Corporate Head of Academics- Learning & Development is responsible for the planning, design, delivery and evaluation of school development plans and execution to support Group School Principals across LEAMS Education. Consult with School Principals to assess organization and individual leadership development needs and provide solutions, helping us drive continuous improvement in the way we attract, develop and create meaningful work experiences throughout LEAMS Education. 
  • This position leads the strategic learning and development across academic team of group schools & is responsible for providing learning, leadership & strategy that addresses current and future training challenges by providing consistent learning opportunities through effective needs assessments, curriculum design, and evaluation. This position plays a key leadership role in driving organization effectiveness, change management, team analytics, succession planning, career pathing, leadership development and competency management by focusing on high-value initiatives.
  • He/She is expected to anticipate emerging learning and engagement needs as per requirements and focus on strategies to engage and develop talent for the organization ensuring an employer corporate brand approach. 
  • The Academic Head position is integral to the success of LEAMS Education mission of achieving excellence in Education, to ensure that learning and development happens across the academic team by determining specific training needs.
  • Focus on moving all the group schools towards the next level of academic improvement.
  • Prepare all supporting information for the KHDA inspections & audits and liaise with the school governing body as necessary.
  • Respond to KHDA/MOE inspection reports and oversee required actions to address deficiencies.

LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES:

  • Design and implement leadership development resources and training programs focused on core competencies and leadership skills.
  • Develop innovative, engaging, and challenging learning designs that actively boost the competency and capabilities of academic leadership team.
  • Cultivate and maintain productive relationships with School Principals.
  • Benchmark against other organizations or industry trends to continuously improve learning and development strategies
  • Oversee the e-learning strategies, to ensure high levels of team member engagement and commitment to new initiatives.

EXECUTION

  • Plan and drive execution of all aspects of learning programs including training needs analysis, design, development, and evaluation,with a focus on capability and skill building for leaders and teachers.
  • Provide SMT/SLT team with tailored solutions designed to inspire student curiosity and measure progress.
  • Developing, coordinating and executing training that includes new learning platforms used to deliver excellent learning outcomes.
  • Providing continuous professional development sessions and workshops including learning events, strategic planning, leadership development, performance improvement, and coaching.
  • Executing strategies for Improving the attainment and progress of students in internal and external exams.
  • Performing periodic mock inspections across schools which includes lesson observations, feedback, evaluation and training teachers towards improvement.
  • Coordinate with the Principals in making annual appraisals of teachers. Provide appraisals and evaluation reports on the performance of the Principals and leadership team.
  • Provide leadership for the development of quality systems and processes to identify, approve, plan, design, implement and evaluate all learning and development activity, including training needs analysis, training plans and programs, effective use of training resources, KHDA Teachers Licensing processes, flexible and varied learning packages, evaluation, audit and monitoring of learning/training activity.
  • Imbibe and enhance UAE culture in the schools in line with the guidelines and regulations of the National Agenda Parameter.
  • Work towards development of the Arabic and Islamic departments of schools providing needed guidance to the department Heads.
  • Monitor the proceedings of the SEND department and provide direction and supervision for Inclusion.
  • Seek guidance and support from internal/external subject matter experts on the learning strategies, with the consent of BOD.
  • Facilitate teaching and learning opportunities that spark student engagement and improve outcomes.

MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP DUTIES
Provide guidance to group School Principals by providing work direction, assisting in continuous performance evaluations, conducting class observations, delivering outstanding model lessons, providing guidance and feedback, offering advice on professional development and training opportunities, as needed.

  • Drives and optimizes performance across academic team by identifying core competencies, benchmarking the team against those competencies, and then developing targeted training solutions to close performance gaps.
  • Work closely with the BOD & School Principals to ensure that a proactive and high-quality approach is taken in delivering excellent academic results.
  • Lead the development and implementation of appropriate best practices, reporting and target setting to control and enhance academic objectives.
  • Maintain a documented system of school governing policies and procedures.
  • Act as the chairperson on school development plans, weighing in on new ideas.
  • Analyze existing goals and programs and recommend improvements in overall Quality Assurance of group affiliated schools.

 Candidates having Masters in Education/similar qualifications and having experience working as Academic Manager/ Director/School Principals are preferred.
